Description

(5 years’ relevant experience required)   Our client is involved in the development, assembly and supply of equipment that is used in laboratories worldwide to develop new chemicals, plastics and medicines. The mechanical part of their designs is often central to the product and consists of stirred vessels (sometimes under pressure made of various alloys); often heated/cooled and integrated into a structure that also encases electronics.   They are looking for an experienced mechanical engineering technician to help develop and build systems which have been manufactured by local workshops. Hands-on experience with pressure equipment and familiarity with pressure fittings, seals reciprocating shafts is essential. Knowledge in use and maintenance of workshop equipment as well as training of others is important, mostly for small scale prototyping.   Manufacture is largely subcontracted to local workshops and so fostering and maintaining good relationships with suppliers is an important part of the job. You will need to have experience of producing drawings using Autodesk Inventor 2013, including geometric and dimensional tolerance, in order to assist the company’s chief design engineer.  This will account for 30% to 50% of the role.   You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team involved in several projects at the same. Ability to work under pressure and flexibly is very important.    Benefits:
