Description

Minimum of one year’s industrial experience required. Our client is a dynamic, expanding company, involved in the development, assembly and supply of chemistry laboratory analytical equipment. This equipment is sold to laboratories worldwide to develop new chemicals, plastics and medicines.  They are currently seeking a biochemist, or chemical engineer with with hands-on experience in laboratories and/or pilot plants in the pharmaceutical, brewing, or biotechnology industries. The role will involve managing the project teams assembling and testing bespoke research scale reactors and related equipment for automated process development, before it is shipped to clients worldwide. There will also be travel for installation/commissioning and customer training. Our client is looking for a dynamic, qualified Biochemist, or Chemical Engineer with experience in research laboratories, or similar industrial settings. Previous experience trialling biochemical and/or pharmaceutical reactions is essential. The following benefits are on offer:

To be successful in the role, you will need to be well organised, confident and a good communicator, willing to travel and capable of handling multiple tasks at the same time. Many projects have tight deadlines and staff are required to show flexibility adapting to the needs of the job.

To be successful you will need to evidence the following qualifications/experience:  
  1. Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biochemistry.
  2. Ideally, one year’s industrial experience in a commercial Biochemical Laboratory, or piloting plant in a chemical process engineering environment.
  3. Experience of biochemical reaction processes, particularly using Bioreactors for microbial fermentation, or cell culture
  4.  PM experience of working effectively with a multi-discipline team, ensuring projects are completed successfully
  5. Experience of assembly, performance testing and troubleshooting of laboratory analytical equipment
