Description
Our Client is involved in the development, assembly and supply of equipment that is used in laboratories worldwide to develop new chemicals, plastics and medicines.
Their equipment consists of electronics for measuring variables such as temperature, pressure and pH plus stirred glass and metal chambers that are heated/cooled for performing the experiments and all this is integrated through software.
They are currently looking for a ‘hands-on’ technician with experience of Laboratories and Workshops. This is to work in the Projects Department, where you would be involved in assembly and complete testing of experimental systems before they are shipped out to clients worldwide. No specific experience of the Client’s applications is needed, but some background experience is helpful.
This role will suit a ‘hands-on’ technician who will have:
- Between one and two years’ experience of assembling test apparatus in a chemical synthesis laboratory and/or in a workshop assembling prototype chemical, pilot scale equipment
- Familiarity with mechanical fittings and pressure fittings for chemical test equipment.
- Experience with the use of machine tools (advantageous).
- Qualification at higher educational level in Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering, or commensurate practical experience in the field. (advantageous).
